Lyrics
Floating peacefully in my mind
on the mirror of a glass calm sea
All is well with my world
I have great friends and family
My artwork is spreading, videos being watched
My words are being asked for
I have a truly wonderful life
From it I couldn't ask much more
But suddenly the mirror begins to crack
From nowhere comes a mental wind shear
Like a great Nor easter in my head
My world becomes filled with fear
With the gale my calm is stolen
My relaxing float has been disrupted
Turbulent gray matter tosses my raft
My peace suddenly corrupted
Waves crashing in on my cyclonic life
Monstrous seas and a rogue typhoon
As I break the top of one white cap
The next brings visions of doom
In my little raft I am tossed about
I dread the future and what comes next
Who's right? Who's wrong? An attack on my soul
I spiral helpless into the vortex
Gasping as the worries fill my lungs
The end is near I will surely drown
Then suddenly from a fading horizon
Comes a familiar peaceful sound
As the trials of life spin viciously by
There's a ray of hope with a silver lining
My wife holds course, she takes over the helm
As she speaks of a world still shining
She allows me to speak, rambling nonsense
Of how I think my world is dividing
My pacing slows, I am able to sit
Minds turbulence slowly subsiding
As I ease back to the calm that brings me comfort
thoughts of fishing and hunting ducks
I realize once again it is just the power of my mind
and anxiety really sucks.
