Freezes (14 Feb 26) v3

I must have been a fool to be in love with you, you didn’t really want to be with me, that’s plain to see, but I pretended to be strong and just carried on. I wonder what went wrong, when it used to be your loving arms that held me tight, kept me safe, kept me warm, but now when we’re close - it just feels like everything freezes. All I wanted was something nice, safe and warm, but you are as cold as ice, nothing I do now seems to turn you on. If I’m going to grow, I need to be more decisive and just go. I know there’s someone out there who I can spend the rest of my life with. I am not expecting some kind of paradise, I just somewhere that I can call home, where I will be loved and respected. I finally make the break, and I feel released, I know now you really didn’t care for me in the least, I can’t understand why I waited so long. All I wanted was something nice, safe and warm, but you are as cold as ice, nothing I do now seems to turn you on. It’s funny how much more attractive I can be, without you hanging around me, I know now there’s a much happier life out there for a girl like me. I look back now and can’t conceive why it took me so long to leave, the more I try the more I believe there is someone special out there just waiting for a girl like me, for a girl like me.
