Keep Marching

Verse 1 (Lead with light “doo-doo” harmony underneath) When the road feels long and weary And the night won’t turn to day When the weight upon your shoulders Tries to steal your song away There’s a Captain who goes before you He has never lost a fight So fix your eyes upon the promise And keep marching toward the light Tag (short, punchy harmony) Keep marching… toward the light! ⸻ Verse 2 (Add rhythmic bass pulse) Through the valleys and the shadows Through the fire and the rain Every step is known in heaven Not a tear has been in vain Hear the distant sound of victory Like a trumpet strong and clear Every saint who’s gone before us Is still cheering from up there ⸻ Chorus (Full four-part harmony, bold and bright) Keep marching, keep marching Don’t you lay your armor down Keep marching, keep marching There’s a victor’s robe and crown Though the battle may be raging And the ground beneath you shakes He who called you will sustain you Every promise He will make ⸻ Verse 3 (Tenor featured high harmony line) When temptation whispers softly “Turn around, just walk away” Remember all the chains He shattered On that resurrection day He didn’t leave you as an orphan He won’t leave you in the storm There’s a banner flying over you — You are His, redeemed, reborn ⸻ Bridge (Quieter, tight harmony, slow build) Step by step, side by side We are soldiers of the cross Through the trials, through the tide Nothing ever truly lost For the One who walks beside us Bore the weight of every sin And the march that leads to glory Is the road He’s walking in ⸻ Final Chorus (Big, ringing chords) Keep marching, keep marching Lift your banner high and strong Keep marching, keep marching Heaven’s choir will join your song Every tear will turn to triumph Every trial end in praise Keep marching till you see Him Face to face one day ⸻ Extended Barbershop Tag (Slow, swelling harmony) Keep… marching… Onward… Home…
