INTRODUCTION :
I am at Cash Express in Angers. I found my apprenticeship thanks to Indeed. I applied and I was accepted in Cash Express. The dates of my apprenticeship are September 1, 2025, to August 28, 2026, for a period of one year, because I did not obtain my diploma last year.
The company hired me to help it in administrative management. I work as an administrative assistant and my tutor is Eloise Petit, the executive assistant. We are 2 to manage the administration what I like because I feel confident with her.
THE COMPANY:
Cash Express is a company specializing in the purchase and resale of used products such as phones, computers, video games, hi-fi equipment and household appliances. The manager has 4 stores 1 in Angers, 1 in Tours and 2 in Paris.
The store is part of a franchise. A franchise means the store is owned by someone but uses the name and system of a big brand.
Our main customers are individuals who sell their products or buy used items at reduced prices. Cash Express has competitors, but is distinguished thanks to the guarantees, product tests and customer service quality.
MY TASKS :
My tasks within this organization include responding to emails from clients and partners, such as schools. This requires reactivity and good organization. I also manage human resources by participating in administrative follow-up tasks, preparing documents, and providing support in certain procedures. Additionally, I help update the single document on professional risks, contributing to the revision of this mandatory document that lists employee risks and improves prevention and safety. Finally, I handle school requests by managing administrative procedures, preparing necessary documents, and responding to letters from educational institutions that are partners of the company.
WHAT I LIKE OR NOT :
At Cash Express, I enjoy administrative tasks such as checking the follow-up of checks and updating Excel files. These tasks help me stay organized and rigorous. I also appreciate being autonomous and managing my work according to priorities.
During my three days in the company, I spend one day in the store to interact with the team, observe the daily operations, and collect administrative information. I dedicate another day to working in the office, where I manage checks, update customer and supplier files, and assist with various administrative tasks. Finally, I work one day from home when my tutor is unavailable, where I complete tasks independently and continue my missions in autonomy. This organization helps me work efficiently and independently.
What I enjoy less is making phone calls, as I am a bit shy. However, most communication at Cash Express is done by email, which suits me better and helps me stay comfortable and responsive. After my study, I would like to pursue a degree in human resources. I would like to change a company to learn new skills.
FICHE DE COMMUNICATION :
I am going to present a conflict related to a possible mistake made by an employee, experienced at Cash Express, which illustrates the importance of dialogue and understanding within a team.
During a particularly busy day at the store, a misunderstanding occurred between two employees regarding stock management. The manager thought that an employee had not correctly entered certain products into the software, which led to errors in tracking incoming and outgoing items. For his part, the employee concerned felt unfairly accused, believing he had carried out his work properly. The tension quickly escalated, as each person wanted to defend their point of view.
Faced with this situation, the store director intervened to calm the conflict. He organized a team meeting so that everyone could present their version of the facts in a calm and respectful environment. The director then checked the information in the software and found that it was merely a communication error, not a mistake. Thanks to this intervention, the misunderstanding was cleared up, the employees apologized to each other, and they decided to communicate better in the future. The working atmosphere improved, and cooperation within the team was strengthened.
This situation showed me the importance of communication in a company. At first, I felt uncomfortable because of the tension, but the calmness and professionalism of the director reassured me. In his place, I would have listened to each employee separately and suggested a reminder about stock entry procedures to avoid future misunderstandings.
This experience taught me the importance of staying calm, listening, and communicating clearly to resolve disagreements.
