this is our way

[Verse 1] We met by the time clock, early evening sunset You said you were punctual, it caught me by surprise Standing there waiting, I thought you were crazy, but you smiled anyway [Pre-Chorus] Casual words turned to something more Meeting in our little bat cave out of sight from the door Weeks went by and the moment grew you then you asked me out, I knew it was true [Chorus] This is the way, our story begins From dates at Dave and Busters, eating at resteraunts and vacation trips leading to our love Now its been five years and counting, Tennessee’s is now callin’ In the great Smoky Mountains, we will stand tall Just me and you, Gator and Sable, Looking at the smoky skies On the front porch while they play. Living the simple life, this is the way [Verse 2] Evenings fall soft with quiet sounds Our dogs sleeping at our feet, peace all around, Anticipating our Family coming to visit from Florida excited to see our Grandchildren and their laughter, filling the atmosphere with love. [Pre-Chorus] Looking ahead to what is to come A new chapter is waiting with the rising sun over the mountains Love’s gentle rhythm, steady and true May the force be with us as we finally say “I do” [Chorus] This is the way, our story begins From dates at Dave and Busters, eating at resteraunts and vacation trips leading to our love Now its been five years and counting, Tennessee’s is now callin’ In the great Smoky Mountains, we will stand tall Just me and you, Gator and Sable, Looking at the smoky skies On the front porch while they play. Living the simple life, this is the way [Bridge] From the humming buzz of the workday grind To mountain whispers and quiet mind Our journey’s written in every star Together forever, no matter how far [Chorus] This is the way, our story begins From dates at Dave and Busters, eating at resteraunts and vacation trips leading to our love Now its been five years and counting, Tennessee’s is now callin’ In the great Smoky Mountains, we will stand tall Just me and you, Gator and Sable, Looking at the smoky skies On the front porch while they play. Living the simple life, this is the way [Outro] May the force be with us as life unfolds Hand in hand, in these hills of McCampbell gold This is our story, forever to stay Me, you, and this love — The Force is what gives us our powers this is the way
