Promise Kept

Verse 1: Forty years ago, a voice in the dark Said I'd find you when the journey starts Seven years old in a foreign land Now we're dancing with our wedding bands Chorus: It's a promise kept, though we didn't know How the story would unfold It's a promise kept, written in the stars Two strangers with connected hearts Heaven knew, heaven knew Verse 2: Your mother saw it 'fore you were born I was walking through my darkest storm But promises don't care about our plans Now I'm holding tomorrow in my hands (Repeat Chorus) Bridge: Some wait forever and never see The prophecy become reality But here we are, against the odds A promise kept by God
