Lyrics
Some nights my mind tries to outrun my peace —
racing thoughts like they refuse to cease,
but I don’t chase them anymore…
I release.
I’ve learned to lay my worries down,
to cast down every argument that tries to rise and crown
itself above the truth I know —
I pull those thoughts low.
Every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God,
I bring into order —
I bring into guard.
I take every wandering thought captive,
bend it back to obedience — active.
Because God did not give me fear —
He gave me power that stands firm here,
He gave me love that steadies the mind,
a sound mind — clear, aligned.
So I care for this body — it carries me through.
I guard this mind — what I dwell on, I choose.
I tend this soul like sacred ground,
because peace is not passive — it’s profound.
Peace is not fragile —
it’s trained.
It’s practiced.
It’s sustained.
And discipline…
discipline is how I remain.
